Lovely Chartreuse, an intimidating color to wear but when done right can be a tasteful hue to prance around in! This rich sophisticated color is a mixture of green and yellow and has made a gracious come back appearing on the Spring 2011 runway shows.
Many designers featured chartreuse pieces in their collections, and I could not be more excited as I have had a crush on this color ever since I was 5 years old, and I began to pick out my own outfits. One thing glaringly obvious to me is chartreuse tends to compliment a large variety of shades and skin tones. I’m a brunette with a pale olive complexion, and I simply adore this color on me. Many of today’s A-list celebrities have been spotted wearing chartreuse on the red carpet.
As a fashion editor who has spent the past 5 years in major magazines discovering and identifying fashion trends, it is my belief that chartreuse colored garments will be one of the headlining color trends for Spring 2011.
